So over the last couple years, my mom, in an attempt to keep the dogs from invading the neighbors yarn by slipping under the old wooden fence, has been trying to block the back corner by putting tree limbs and sticks there. The result has not been pretty or 100% effective. The dogs can’t get into Ms. Mays yard, but the pressure of them climbing on the limbs and jumping on them has caused the french to lean, so now that need repair.
Along with the glorious pile of sticks and limbs, my dad cut down the weeping crabapple tree on the side, and this also resulted in a huge pile of sticks, limbs and dead leaves.
Today, my mom and I decided it was time to clean up. Using brute strength (we are not wimpy, delicate housewives ;)) and a wheel barrow for the small twigs and broken bits, we first cleared the back corner.
Next we cleared up the aftermath of the tree removal.
I’d like to now say we have a completely tidy yard…however, all those limbs? And the ones that my dad and Jason removed from the cherry and pear tree, are all in a big ass pile at the back side of the yard. Better than all spread around. We are hoping to be able to borrow a wood chipper to make an easy time of clearing the limbs, barring that option, we’ll probably have to pony up the monies to rent a chipper. Anyone in need of wood chips?
